Gentex

Gentex builds commercial notification appliances and system connected smoke alarms, and is best known for hard wired, line-voltage photoelectric units used in apartments, dormitories, hotels and assisted living, where an alarm has to sound in the unit and also signal elsewhere in the building.

Gentex issues new part numbers when a model is superseded, and the older units stay in buildings that were wired for them long afterwards.
