This is a self-contained dwelling-unit evacuation alarm, not a system detector on a signalling line circuit. Gentex lists the SC Series to ANSI/UL 217 9th Edition and ANSI/UL 2034, pairing photoelectric smoke sensing with an electrochemical carbon monoxide cell.

The Gentex ordering table gives the SC row smoke and CO only. For dry contacts take the SCR (918-0032-002) or SCRR (918-0033-002); the C (918-0030-002) is CO alone and the SHRR (917-0073-002) substitutes a thermal sensor. The wiring harnesses are not interchangeable.
