Fire Alarm Control Panels

The fire alarm control panel is the head end of the system. It supervises every initiating device and notification circuit, processes alarm, supervisory and trouble conditions, and drives evacuation signalling and off-premises reporting. Everything else on the job wires back to it.

Panels divide broadly into conventional systems, where devices are grouped onto zoned initiating circuits, and addressable systems, where each device carries a point address on a signalling line circuit and reports its own status individually. An addressable fire alarm panel makes locating a device and spotting a dirty detector far quicker, while conventional panels remain common in smaller buildings and retrofit work. Alongside the main panel you will also find releasing panels for suppression, voice evacuation equipment, and the expansion boards, SLC loop cards, power supplies and NAC extenders that go with them.
