Fire-Lite ES-50XP — an intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel with a single SLC supporting up to 50 addressable devices in any combination of detectors or modules, supplied with an integrated CLSS Pathway Pro dual-SIM (AT&T/Verizon) 5G LTE-M communicator.
The ES-50X, ES-50XC, ES-50XI and ES-50XP are the latest intelligent addressable fire alarm control panels from Fire•Lite Alarms and are direct replacements for the MS-9050UD. The ES-50X Series programs just like Fire•Lite’s other addressable panels, yet fits into applications previously served only by conventional panels. The ES-50XP features an integrated CLSS Pathway Pro Communicator, which transmits system status — alarms, troubles, AC loss and the like — to the central station using LTE CAT-M1 networks, serving as a bridge between the fire system and the CLSS Cloud, with an optional IP connection for backup communication. As an integrated communicator, the CLSS Pathway Pro can typically transmit data faster than dial capture methods, and it enables Honeywell’s Connected Life Safety Services cloud solutions for site monitoring and test-and-inspection reporting. Remote and local programming is possible using the FS-Tools upload/download utility, and the USB port also allows download or upload of the entire program, history file, walk-test data, current status and system voltages by means of a USB flash drive. The power supply and all electronics are contained on a circuit board supported on a quick-install chassis and housed in a metal cabinet.

Installation notes

Two NACs, not four: the ES-50X Series provides two independently programmable built-in notification appliance circuits, each configurable for Class A or Class B with no optional card required. Design NAC layouts around two circuits.

Power budget: each NAC is rated 2.5 A special application / 250 mA regulated, but the maximum total 24 VDC system power shared between all NAC circuits and the ANN-BUS is 2.7 A. Size the whole system to that ceiling, not to the per-circuit rating.

Battery sizing: the cabinet holds a maximum of two 18 AH batteries and the onboard charger covers 7–18 AH. A CHG-75 or CHG-120F external charger is required for batteries larger than 18 AH.

Communicator differences: the pre-installed IPOTS-COM Ethernet/POTS communicator is fitted to the ES-50X and ES-50XC only. The ES-50XP instead carries the integrated CLSS Pathway Pro cellular communicator.

Programming: databases upload and download via the panel’s USB port with FS-Tools; offline programming requires an Ethernet connection.

Legacy device caution: legacy 300 Series devices such as the CP300/CP350, SD300(T)/SD350(T) and older modules including the M300, M301, M302, C304 and BG-10LX are not compatible with LiteSpeed polling. If the SLC contains one of these, polling must be set to standard CLIP protocol.

SLC wiring: shielded wire is not required, but all SLC wiring should be twisted-pair to minimise the effects of electrical interference.
