Fire-Lite ECC-50/100 Emergency Command Center

ECC-50/100 — multipurpose emergency voice evacuation panel (Primary Operating Console) for fire applications, mass notification applications, or both, with a built-in 25 Vrms 50 watt amplifier and a single speaker circuit as standard.

The ECC-50/100 comes with fourteen field programmable messages of up to 60 seconds each, built-in field configurable pre- and post-announce tone generators, an integral supervised microphone, and a fully supervised notification appliance circuit with 2.0 amps of synchronized NAC power. A secondary 50 watt amplifier (ECC-50W-25V or ECC-50W-70V) can be added for single-circuit backup or to raise the system to two speaker circuits and 100 watts; an optional ECC-CE6 module expands the panel to a maximum of eight speaker circuit outputs. All speaker output circuits can be wired Style Y (Class B) or Style Z (Class A). For fire protection applications the ECC-50/100 is an adjunct (slave) to any UL listed FACP via reverse polarity or contact closure, and can be used as a stand-alone unit for non-fire applications. Seamless integration is available by direct serial activation from an ES-200X, MS-9600(UD)LS or MS-9200UDLS over the ANN/ACS (EIA-485) link; other panels drive the eight onboard command input circuits. The system expands with up to eight external remote consoles and up to eight distributed audio amplifiers on the external data and audio riser buses. All programming is done through a built-in programming utility accessed from a laptop.

Installation notes

• Background music costs output: speaker circuit output power is 50 watts, but drops to 10 watts when background music is employed. Design the speaker load against 10 watts if music is part of the application.
• Battery minimum is 12 AH, not 7: the charger supports up to 26 AH, but the ECC cabinet holds a maximum 18 AH battery, and the minimum battery size is 12 Amp Hour. Larger batteries need an external CHG-75 or CHG-120F charger.
• Two different EOL resistors: speaker circuits use a 15k ohm 1 watt ELR-15K, while the NAC and speaker volume control override use 4.7k ohm ½ watt (P/N 71252). Command input contact-closure circuits call for a 4.7k ohm ½ watt resistor under a different part number, P/N 27072. Do not standardize on one resistor across the panel.
• Not a fire alarm control panel: for fire protection applications the ECC-50/100 is an adjunct (slave) to a UL listed FACP. Stand-alone operation is for non-fire applications only.
• Mass notification changes the inputs: when the system is programmed for Mass Notification, CMD1 and CMD2 are programmed for reverse polarity only.
• 70 volt operation: the primary amplifier reaches 70.7 Vrms only with the ECC-XRM-70V transformer plugged into J12 of the main control board, or by choosing the ECC-50W-70V for the secondary amplifier. Speaker wiring remains supervised in standby, alarm and during background music with the optional transformer installed.
• Seismic: certified for seismic applications with the appropriate mounting kit — SEISKIT-COMMENC, which includes a battery bracket for two 12 AH or 18 AH batteries.
