ES-1000X — intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel with a pre-installed loop card, expandable to 954 addressable points across a maximum of three signaling line circuits, with a pre-installed IPOTS-COM dual-technology communicator.
The ES-1000X programs just like Fire•Lite’s other addressable products while offering expanded support for larger and more complex installations. Each SLC (DCL) loop carries up to 318 addressable devices — 159 detectors and 159 modules — and the panel accepts a maximum of three loops, reaching 954 points. The panel ships with one loop; the optional SLC-3LS loop expander card adds capacity, to a maximum of two expander cards per panel. Four independently programmable NAC circuits can each be configured for Class A or Class B output, with selectable strobe synchronization per NAC for System Sensor, Wheelock and Gentex devices. The pre-installed IPOTS-COM transmits system status to a central station over the public switched telephone network, and its internet monitoring capability sends alarm signals over the Internet, saving the monthly cost of two dedicated business telephone lines; optional cellular reporting is available using the CLSS Pathway or GSM communicators. The ES-1000X carton includes the main circuit board with display, pre-installed communicator, chassis with transformer, and backbox with dress panel and door.

Installation notes

954 points is the expanded figure, not the shipped one: the panel comes with one SLC loop at 318 devices. Reaching 954 requires two SLC-3LS loop expander cards, which is the maximum of two per panel.

Loop capacity splits by device type: each loop holds 159 detectors and 159 modules. A loop with 200 detectors will not work even though the loop total is 318.

Power budget: each NAC is rated 3.0 amps special application, but the maximum total 24 VDC system power shared between all NAC circuits and the auxiliary power circuits is 8.0 A. Four circuits at 3.0 A each exceed that ceiling.

Battery minimum is 18 AH: unusually, this panel specifies a minimum system battery size of 18 Amp Hour. The cabinet holds a maximum of two 26 Amp Hour batteries, while the charger supports up to 55 Amp Hour — larger batteries need a BB-26 or BB-55F enclosure with a CHG-75 or CHG-120F charger.

Dress panel is included: unlike the ES-50X and ES-200X, the ES-1000X ships with a backbox that includes the dress panel and door.

Programming: databases upload and download via the panel USB port and thumb drive, covering the entire program, history file, walk-test data, current status and system voltages. Offline programming with FS-Tools requires an ethernet connection.
