ES-50X — intelligent addressable fire alarm control panel with one signaling line circuit, 50-point device capacity and a pre-installed IPOTS-COM dual-technology (IP and POTS) central station communicator.
The ES-50X is a direct replacement for the MS-9050UD and programs just like Fire•Lite’s other addressable panels, yet fits into applications previously served only by conventional panels. Its single SLC (DCL) loop supports any combination of addressable detectors and modules up to 50 devices, meets NFPA Class A or Class B requirements, and runs up to 10,000 ft. (3,000 m) in LiteSpeed mode over twisted, unshielded wire. Two independently programmable notification appliance circuits may each be configured Class A or Class B, with selectable strobe synchronization per NAC for System Sensor, Wheelock and Gentex appliances. The pre-installed IPOTS-COM communicator reports to a central station over the public switched telephone network and over the Internet, saving the monthly cost of two dedicated business telephone lines; optional cellular reporting is available using HW-TG7F Series communicators or the CLSS Pathway. The ES-50X ships as the main circuit board with display, pre-installed IPOTS-COM communicator, chassis with transformer, backbox with door, and a plastic bag containing screws, cables and key.

Installation notes

Power budget: the 2.5 A figure is per NAC. Maximum or total 24 VDC system power shared between all NAC circuits and the ANN-BUS is 2.7 A — size annunciators and notification load against that total, not against a single circuit.

NAC count: the terminal block provides connections for two NACs. Each may be wired Class A or Class B; Class A does not add circuits.

Dress panel: the ES-50X carton does not include a dress panel (the ES-50XC, ES-50XI and ES-50XP do). Order DP-ES-R separately; TR-CE is the trim ring for semi-flush mounting.

Batteries: the cabinet holds a maximum of two 18 AH batteries and the onboard charger covers 7–18 AH. Anything larger than 18 AH requires a CHG-75 or CHG-120F charger and an external enclosure such as BB-26 or BB-55F.

Legacy devices: 300 Series devices such as CP300/CP350, SD300(T)/SD350(T), M300, M301, M302, C304 and BG-10LX are not compatible with LiteSpeed polling. If any are on the SLC, polling must be set to standard CLIP protocol.

Programming: databases upload and download through the panel USB port, or over ethernet using the IPOTS-COM. Offline programming with FS-Tools requires an ethernet connection.
