Gamewell-FCI ASD-PL3-IV — Velociti® Series 3 intelligent addressable photoelectric smoke detector in ivory, supplied as the service/legacy model that operates in both Velociti and CLIP™ protocol.
The ASD-PL3-IV combines a re-designed photoelectric sensing chamber with addressable-analog communications, transmitting an analog representation of smoke density to the fire alarm control panel so sensitivity can be programmed in panel software to suit the environment. Each detector is addressed with rotary decimal switches (01–159) for exact point location, carries dual LEDs for 360° visibility, and includes a built-in functional test switch operated by an external test magnet. The ivory finish and dual-protocol operation make this the model to specify when adding or replacing detectors on an existing ivory system. The detector head ships alone — a mounting base (B501-IV 4" flangeless, B300-6-IV 6" flanged, or a relay, isolator or sounder base) is ordered separately.

Installation notes

Base sold separately: the data sheet lists mounting bases (B501-IV, B300-6-IV, B224RB-IV relay, B224BI-IV isolator, B200S-IV / B200SR-IV sounder) as separate order items from the detector head.

CLIP compatibility: the E3 Series® and S3 Series panels support both Velociti and CLIP, but the GWF-7075 panel does not support the CLIP protocol. For the full list of listed panels see the Compatibility Addendum for Gamewell-FCI Manuals, P/N 9000-0427-L8.

No thermal element: the ASD-PL3-IV is photoelectric only. Fixed-temperature 135°F thermal sensing is a feature of the ASD-PTL3 / ASD-PTL3-IV, which also carry a narrower 32°F to 100°F operating range.

Duct applications: use the remote-test-capable ASD-PL3R-IV with a DNR or DNRW duct detector housing.

Field test: the built-in functional test switch is activated by an external magnet (M02-04-01 test magnet, or M02-09-00 with telescoping handle).
