Gamewell-FCI ASD-PL3 — Velociti® Series 3 intelligent addressable photoelectric smoke detector in bright white, for Gamewell-FCI analog addressable fire alarm control panels.
The ASD-PL3 pairs a re-designed optical sensing chamber — engineered to sense smoke from a wide range of combustion sources in accordance with UL 268 7th Edition — with addressable-analog communications, so the panel receives an analog representation of smoke density and sensitivity can be programmed in panel software to suit the environment. Each detector is set with rotary decimal address switches (01–159) for exact point location, has dual LEDs for 360° visibility, draws low standby current, and includes a built-in functional test switch operated by an external magnet. The detector head ships alone; a mounting base (B501-WHITE 4" flangeless, B300-6 6" flanged, or an optional relay, isolator or sounder base) is ordered separately.

Installation notes

Base sold separately: bases (B501-WHITE, B300-6, B224RB-WH relay, B224BI-WH isolator, B200S-WH / B200SR-WH sounder, and low-frequency sounder versions) are listed as separate order items from the detector head.

Protocol: the bright white ASD-PL3 is a Velociti-protocol detector. If the job requires CLIP backwards compatibility on a legacy system, the ivory service model ASD-PL3-IV operates in both Velociti and CLIP.

No thermal element: the ASD-PL3 is photoelectric only. Fixed-temperature 135°F thermal sensing is a feature of the ASD-PTL3, which also carries a narrower 32°F to 100°F operating range.

Duct applications: use the remote-test-capable ASD-PL3R with a DNR or DNRW duct detector housing.

Field test: the built-in functional test switch is activated by an external magnet (M02-04-01, or M02-09-00 with telescoping handle). The XR2B removal tool with XP-4 extension pole handles high ceilings.
