Gamewell-FCI MCS-COF3 — plug-in addressable multi-criteria detector in bright white that provides both fire detection and UL 2075 life-safety carbon monoxide detection from a single SLC address.
The MCS-COF3 combines four separate sensing elements — photoelectric smoke, an electrochemical carbon monoxide cell, infrared light/flame, and thermal (135°F fixed-temperature threshold plus rate-of-rise) — and weighs them with sophisticated algorithms. The result is enhanced sensitivity to real fire with heightened immunity to nuisance particulate such as theater smoke, which makes it suitable for areas where single-sensing detectors tend to false alarm. The CO cell produces a separate life-safety signal, so a fire alarm and a CO alarm are annunciated as distinct events. Both smoke and CO sensors are drift-compensated automatically, and the CO cell provides a 10-year service life with an end-of-life warning. The detector head ships without a base; B200S series intelligent sounder bases are recommended so the device can sound Temp 3 for fire and Temp 4 for CO at the detector itself.

Installation notes
-
Base not included: the data sheet lists bases as separate order items. B200S series intelligent sounder bases (B200S-WH, B200S-IV, and the low-frequency B200S-LF versions) are the recommended pairing because they produce the separate Temp 3 fire / Temp 4 CO patterns.
-
Narrow temperature window: 32°F to 100°F (0°C to 38°C) — noticeably tighter than a plain photoelectric detector such as the ASD-PL3, because of the CO cell. Do not use it in unconditioned spaces that swing outside that band.
-
One address: all four sensing elements plus the CO signal report through a single SLC address.
-
CO cell life: the cell is rated for 10 years and issues an end-of-life warning and fault; the CO function must be replaced at that point.
-
CO testing: the detector supports RealTest® CO testing capability.
-
Synchronization: B200S series bases recognize the System Sensor synchronization protocol, so they can be part of the general evacuation signal when driven by a panel or power supply output that generates those pulses.
