Fire Alarm Terminal Cabinets

Fire Alarm Terminal Cabinets

A fire alarm terminal cabinet gives field wiring a marked, accessible junction point instead of splices hidden above a ceiling, so a technician can find and isolate a circuit at a labeled terminal during troubleshooting and maintenance. The cabinets in this collection are Space Age Electronics models in 16 gauge steel with a red or black powder coat finish, "FIRE ALARM TERMINAL CABINET" lettering on the cover, a lift-away hinged door, standard EMT knockouts and a field identification label inside the cover that matches the terminal strip labeling. Space Age states the TC Series satisfies NEC 760.30.

TC Series cabinets use high barrier screw terminal strips rated for 12 gauge wire, 20 A maximum at 250 V (Class B/UL) and 300 V (CSA). Sizes run from the TC1 with 18 points (6-1/2 x 8-1/2 x 2-1/2 in.) and the TC2 with 32 points (14 x 14 in.) to size A with 64 points (23-1/2 x 13 x 5-1/2 in.) and size D with 128 points (23-1/2 in. square). The TC1 is offered with a thumb screw or a CAT 30 keyed lock; the larger sizes are keyed. TC Series cabinets carry UL approval as Control Unit Accessories (UOXX, file S2580).

IF Series cabinets house Space Age TTS tool-less terminal strips. Each terminal has a built-in test port for the TTS test probe, so circuits can be tested without removing wires. The IF1 is 6-1/2 x 8-5/8 x 2-1/2 in. with a thumb screw; the IF2 holds 32 points in a 14 x 14 in. cabinet with a CAT 30 keyed lock.
