VESDA VHX-0420 — Modbus Type 3 High Level Interface, standard version, for VESDAnet aspirating smoke detection networks.
The Modbus Type 3 HLI acts as a proxy for every VESDA device on a VESDAnet network, letting a building management system or fire panel read status and write control and configuration through Modbus registers. Standard is genuine Xtralis wording for the unenclosed unit, which needs a VESDAnet socket interface to reach the network.

VHX-1420 is the same Type 3 interface in a wall-mounted metal box with a built-in VESDAnet interface. Do not confuse it with the earlier Modbus HLIs: VHX-0400 is Type 1 and VHX-0410 Type 2, both capped at 40 detectors with no VESDA-E.
