Simplex 4902-9716 — conventional, non-addressable wall-mount fire alarm speaker in a red rectangular housing with white FIRE lettering.
The 4902 Series pairs a 4" cone with a multi-tapped transformer, so one catalogue number serves either a 25 VRMS or a 70.7 VRMS circuit at any of four power taps. Despite the TrueAlert name Simplex uses on its installation sheet, the appliance is conventional two-wire rather than addressable; a capacitor input suits it to supervised notification appliance circuits.
- Taps of 1/4 W, 1/2 W, 1 W and 2 W, at either 25 VRMS or 70.7 VRMS
- Output at 10 ft per UL 1480 reverberant testing, 25 VRMS: 80, 83, 85 and 88 dBA
- The same four taps at 70.7 VRMS: 79, 82, 85 and 88 dBA
- Fire alarm frequency response 400 Hz to 4000 Hz
- Housing 5-1/8" high × 5" wide × 1-1/2" deep, 2-3/4" into the box
- Mounts to a 4" square outlet box; UL listed to Standard 1480
Read the row for the exact part. 4902-9717 is the same speaker in white with red lettering, 4902-9721 and 4902-9722 are the round ceiling models, and a CA suffix marks the ULC build, whose ratings run lower — 4902-9716CA is 77, 80, 83 and 86 dBA.
