Simplex 4090-5206 — MX Technology addressable line isolator module.
A single short on an MX communications loop can silence every device on it. This module monitors line condition and uses solid-state switches to cut out the faulted section. A fault on the input or output wiring opens only that switch, so the spur keeps operating on loops wired Class A; a fault on the spur itself opens both switches and separates it from the loop. The address is set with the MX Service Tool through a port in the module cover.
- MX loop current 0.08 mA standby; 6 mA single trip, 10 mA double trip
- Terminal blocks for wire size 20 to 14 AWG (0.5 to 2.5 sq mm)
- Wiring resistance to monitored circuits 10 Ω maximum
- Mounts in a standard 2-gang MK box; UL listed to Standard 864
- 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C), up to 93% RH at 90°F (32°C)
This is an MX-protocol device: it needs a 4100ES, 4010ES or 4100U equipped with an MX Loop Module and will not work on an IDNet SLC — for IDNet loops use the 4090-9116 isolator.
