NOTIFIER FDM-1 — a standard-size dual monitor module that monitors and supervises two independent two-wire Style B (Class B) dry-contact initiating device circuits at two separate, consecutive addresses.
The FDM-1 is intended for use in intelligent, two-wire systems. It is capable of monitoring normally-open contact fire alarm and supervisory devices, or either normally-open or normally-closed security devices. The module has a single panel-controlled LED. Because it occupies two consecutive SLC points, it lets an installer pick up two separate zones from one 4" square box — useful where a second IDC is needed but loop points and box space are both tight.
The module automatically assigns itself to two addressable points, starting with the original address. For example, if the FDM-1 is set to address 26, it will automatically assign itself to addresses 26 and 27. Terminals 6 and 7 use the first address, and terminals 8 and 9 use the second address.

Installation notes

Class B only — no exceptions: the FDM-1 provides two Style B (Class B) IDC circuits ONLY. Style D (Class A) IDC circuits are not supported in any application.

Address must end in an even digit: "ones" addresses on the FDM-1 are 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 only, because the module claims the next consecutive address automatically.

Reserve the second point: setting the module to address 26 also consumes address 27. Do not assign another device to that address.

Terminal-to-address mapping: terminals 6 and 7 use the first address; terminals 8 and 9 use the second.

Draws noticeably more than a single monitor module: 750 µA average versus 375 µA for an FMM-1 — account for this in SLC current budgets.

Backbox: mounts to a standard 4" square, 2.125" deep box, or the optional SMB500 surface-mount box. Power-limited wiring only.
