Fireray 5000-104 — the UL and FM approved 8 m to 100 m member of the Fireray 5000 motorised reflective beam smoke detector range.
A reflective beam detector puts transmitter and receiver in one head and returns the beam from a passive prism, so only one side of the protected space needs wiring and power. Smoke in the path attenuates the signal and an alarm follows once obscuration passes the threshold. A laser positions the prism, then a motor steers the head and holds it as the building settles.
- The code encodes approval and range: 5000-103 is UL/FM 8 to 50 m, 5000-104 is UL/FM 8 to 100 m
- Four reflectors are required beyond 50 m separation; below 18 m a short range mask must be fitted
- One controller drives up to two heads, each with its own fire and fault relay pair
- 14–36 VDC; 5–6 mA with one head, 7.5–8.5 mA with two, 35–37 mA aligning
- Threshold 10 to 60 percent obscuration, 35 percent default; alarm and fault delay 2 to 30 s
- 850 nm optics, IP54, UL94 V0 housing, UL file S3417
Do not confuse this with the 50 m 5000-103. The same hardware is 5000-101 and 5000-102 under EN and 5000-112 and 5000-113 under NF. A second head is 5000-031.
