Fire-Lite SD365 — a white low-profile intelligent plug-in photoelectric smoke detector for Fire-Lite addressable fire alarm control panels, operating in LiteSpeed protocol only, addressed by rotary decimal switches. The detector uses a detachable base, ordered separately.
The SD365 Series intelligent plug-in smoke detectors are designed for both performance and aesthetics, and are direct replacements for the SD355 Series. A modern, sleek, contemporary design and an enhanced optical sensing chamber is engineered to sense smoke produced by a wide range of combustion sources in accordance with more stringent code standards. Point ID capability allows each detector’s address to be set with rotary, decimal address switches, providing exact detector location for emergency personnel to quickly locate a fire during its early stages, potentially saving precious rescue time while also reducing property damage. Two LEDs on each sensor provide a local, visible indication — blinking when the unit is polled by the panel and latching on in alarm. The detector responds to regular polls from the control panel and reports its type and status, and each unit’s sensitivity can be tested from the panel as required by NFPA 72, with results printed for record keeping. The cover and insect-resistant screen are removable for simple field cleaning, and a built-in functional test switch is activated by an external magnet.

Installation notes
-
LiteSpeed only — check before substituting: the white SD365 operates in LiteSpeed protocol only. The ivory “-IV” variants are the CLIP and LiteSpeed devices. If the loop must run CLIP, the white SD365 is not the correct part.
-
Base sold separately: mount the detector base (all base types) on an electrical backbox at least 1.5″ (3.81 cm) deep.
-
No end-of-line resistors: because of the inherent supervision provided by the SLC loop, end-of-line resistors are not required. Wiring “T-taps” or branches are permitted for Style 4 (Class B) wiring only.
-
Relay and sounder bases: when using relay or sounder bases, consult the I300 installation sheet I56-3626 for device limitations between isolator modules and isolator bases.
-
Legacy replacement: the SD365 Series is a direct replacement for the SD355 Series, and the separate base allows interchange of photoelectric, ionization and thermal sensors.
