Amplifiers

Amplifiers drive the speaker circuits of a voice evacuation system, converting the panel's audio into the power needed to reach every speaker on a circuit.

Size by the total speaker load in watts, with headroom — running an amplifier at its limit leaves nothing for a circuit added later, and voice systems tend to grow. Booster amplifiers extend a system by adding capacity for additional circuits without replacing the head end.

Amplifiers are panel-family specific and normally require battery backup sized to the voice system's required operating time, which is longer than for notification-only systems in many jurisdictions.
