NOTIFIER FRM-1 — an addressable relay module that provides the system with a dry-contact output for activating auxiliary devices such as fans, dampers and control equipment.
Addressability allows the dry contact to be activated, either manually or through panel programming, on a select basis. The FRM-1 may be programmed to operate dry contacts for applications such as door holders or Air Handling Unit shutdown, and to reset four-wire smoke detector power. Its internal circuitry and relay are powered directly by the two-wire SLC loop, so no separate supply is needed for the module itself.
The module provides two Form-C dry contacts that switch together. Built-in type identification automatically identifies the device to the control panel, differentiating a module address from a sensor address. An integral LED blinks green each time a communication is received from the control panel and turns steady red when activated; the LED blink may be deselected globally, which affects all devices. Two rotary switches allow direct-dial entry of the address. The face plate is off-white heat-resistant plastic.

Installation notes

Additional AC contact ratings: DN-6724 also lists 25 VAC inductive ratings, but the published table gives two different currents for that same voltage and load type. Confirm the 25 VAC figure against the current data sheet before designing to it — the values above are the unambiguous ones.

Dry contacts only: the FRM-1 switches a contact; it does not supply power. Anything it drives needs its own supply, and that supply is relay-isolated from the SLC.

Backbox: requires a 4" square, 2.125" deep box, or the optional SMB500 surface-mount backbox.

Wiring separation: the CB500 barrier is the series accessory for separating power-limited and non-power-limited wiring sharing a junction box.

Address range depends on protocol: 01–159 on FlashScan, 01–99 on CLIP. Address may be set before or after mounting.
