SIGA-OSHDB is the black version of the Edwards Signature Optica Series SIGA-OSHD intelligent multisensor detector. It combines a multi-criteria optical smoke sensor with a rate-of-rise heat sensor that also has a fixed temperature setting, so it responds to smoldering and fast flaming fires. Dual optical wavelengths and multiple detection angles let it reject particles typical of general cooking nuisance sources. It works only with control panels that use a Signature Loop Controller, and the mounting base is ordered separately.

Compatibility and installation notes
- Compatible only with control panels using a Signature Loop Controller; up to 250 total Signature addresses per loop.
- Edwards lists the SIGA-OSHDB for use with the SIGA-TSB black trim skirt for 4-inch bases.
- Black bases listed in the same data sheet: SIGA-SBB, SIGA-SB4B, SIGA-RBB, SIGA-RB4B, SIGA-IBB, SIGA-IB4B, and the TS4B 4-inch black trim skirt. Standard, relay, isolator and audible (SIGA-AB4G, SIGA-AB4GT, SIGA-AB4G-LF) bases are also listed.
- Signature detectors mount to North American 1-gang boxes, 3-1/2 or 4 inch octagon boxes, and 4 inch square boxes 1-1/2 in. (38 mm) deep.
- Electronic addressing, automatic device mapping, non-volatile memory, two levels of environmental compensation and dirty detector warning, and a bicolor (green/red) status LED. Some features depend on the control panel.
