VEP-A00-1P-UL — UL-listed VESDA-E VEP aspirating smoke detector, single sampling pipe, LED user interface (no LCD display).
The VEP-A00-1P-UL draws air samples through a single sampling pipe network into a detection chamber that uses a short wavelength laser light source with photodiodes and advanced imaging technology. Inherent absolute calibration and a clean air barrier across the optics keep response consistent as the detector ages, and flow fault thresholds are configurable per port. It interfaces directly with fire warning and suppression release systems and can be integrated into a building management system. Beyond relay reporting, the detector acts as a gateway to VESDAnet for a PC running Xtralis VSC over Ethernet or USB, and its internal aspirator, sampling module, filter and detection chamber are all field replaceable.

Installation notes
-
Settings that do not exist on this model: aspirator speed is not configurable on the VEP-A00-1P-UL, and a "4 Pipes in Use" configuration cannot be selected. Both are four-pipe VEP options only.
-
Single-pipe limits are lower than the general VEP data sheet: the UL product guide gives 312 ft (95 m) as the maximum single pipe run against the 100 m quoted on the non-UL VESDA-E VEP data sheet. Use the UL figures for UL work.
-
AutoLearn is unavailable in Open area mode, so thresholds in that configuration must be designed rather than learned.
-
Mimic mode: for the VEP-A00-1P-UL, mimic mode is entered by selecting the switch to VLC mode — useful when replacing a legacy LaserCOMPACT.
-
IP40 is stated but not evaluated by UL, so the enclosure rating sits outside the listing.
-
Exhaust adaptor: the 3/4 in IPS exhaust connection uses the VSP-961 adaptor, ordered separately.
-
Current chamber spare is MK4: this guide's spare parts table lists VSP-964-04, not the earlier VSP-964-03.
