Thermotech 302-EPM-194 — 194 °F rate compensation heat detector with an explosion-proof mounting bushing, for hazardous locations indoors.
Rate compensation is a third class beside fixed temperature and rate of rise. A high expansion shell encases slower struts carrying opposing contacts, so a rapid rise lengthens the shell first and closes them one to three degrees below the rating, cancelling thermal lag. It self-restores on cooling.
- Normally open; hermetically sealed, shock and corrosion resistant, tamper proof
- Contacts rated 6–125 VAC at 5 A, 6–25 VDC at 1 A, 125 VDC at 0.5 A
- Holds within two to three degrees of its set point at any rate of rise
- Smooth-ceiling UL rating of 50 × 50 ft (2,500 sq ft) on 8 to 10 ft ceilings
- EPM is Explosion Proof Mounting: hexagonal grip bushing, 1/2 in. conduit threads for a Killark series JL hub cover or equal, interior use
- EPM rows are listed UL alone where the interior, ET and AW rows read FM and UL
The 302-EPM-135 is the same detector at 135 °F. Do not substitute the 302-AW-194 or 302-ET-194: both are sealed for outdoor use, neither is explosion-proof.
