P2GRKLED — System Sensor L-Series with LED Outdoor 2-wire compact horn strobe, wall mount, red, with FIRE marking on the cover.
The L-Series with LED Outdoor platform covers indoor, outdoor, wet, dry and washdown environments across a temperature range of −40°F to 151°F. These appliances are NEMA 4X and IP56 rated without having to seal the back box, so no additional caulk or sealant is required — a faster and cleaner installation than the older approach. Outdoor devices ship with plastic back boxes that accommodate in-and-out wiring for daisy chaining, and knock-outs on the back eliminate the need to drill holes for screw-in mounting. UL listed waterproof wirenuts are provided to make the connection between the field wiring and the mounting plates. LED technology draws significantly less current than the older xenon bulbs across the full candela range, and rotary switches set candela, horn tone and volume.

Installation notes

Update the back box when replacing SpectrAlert Advance products. System Sensor states that when replacing SpectrAlert Advance appliances the back box should be updated to the L-Series with LED back box. Reusing the old box is not the sanctioned approach.

No sealant needed: the NEMA 4X and IP56 rating is achieved without sealing the back box, and additional caulk or sealant is not required. Adding sealant is unnecessary and can obstruct drainage.

Wall candela values: as a wall appliance the selectable range is 15, 30, 75, 95, 110, 135 and 185 cd. The 115, 150 and 177 cd settings are the ceiling values used by the PC2RKLED — the two sets are not interchangeable.

Outdoor sound output is lower than the indoor equivalent: this appliance gives 85 dBA on Temporal High and 77 dBA on Temporal Low, against 87 and 79 dBA for the indoor L-Series LED horn strobes. Do not carry indoor dBA figures into an outdoor calculation.

Current varies sharply with switch position: at 135 cd the appliance draws 189 mA on Temporal High but 125 mA on 3.1 kHz Non-Temporal High. Size the notification appliance circuit on the position actually programmed.

Waterproof wirenuts are supplied for the connection between field wiring and the mounting plates — use those, not standard connectors.

Daisy chaining: the supplied plastic back boxes accommodate in-and-out wiring, and rear knock-outs allow screw-in mounting without drilling.

Synchronization is achieved with UL approved power supplies that support System Sensor Sync, or with a System Sensor MDL Sync Module.
