Siemens FDOOTC441 (S54320-F8-A1) — two-wire addressable multi-criteria fire and CO detector for the Desigo Fire Safety platform, combining dual optical (forward and backward light-scattering) sensing, thermal sensing and an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor in one ceiling footprint.
The FDOOTC441 takes a single address on the signalling line circuit while functioning as a multi-criteria smoke detector, a heat detector with field-selectable temperature and rate-of-rise settings, a direct in-duct detector, a CO supervisory sensor, and an NFPA 76 Very Early Warning Fire Detector. ASAtechnology (Advanced Signal Analysis) combines the sensor signals through a neural-network algorithm so the detector can distinguish real products of combustion from dust, steam and aerosols, responding to both smouldering and flaming fire signatures. The CO sensor gives faster response on fires with incomplete combustion and is rated for a 10-year lifetime. Built-in ISOtechnology supplies the NFPA 72 Class X SLC isolation feature, and because the detector is photoelectric rather than ionization there is no radioactive source to dispose of.

Installation notes

Base ordered separately: the head plugs into a DB-11-series base; the detector itself ships with a protective dust cover and should stay covered until construction is finished.

One address, several functions: the optical, thermal and CO elements can be configured for simultaneous or independent operation, so one address can report a multi-criteria fire alarm alongside independent heat and CO supervisory signals. Configure per installation manual P/N A6V10324657.

Direct in-duct listing: UL 268A Listed to 4,000 fpm, so the same head covers open-area and duct applications — provided the duct application profile is selected.

CO cell lifetime: the carbon monoxide sensor is rated for 10 years. Plan replacement of the detector, not of the cell.

Low-temperature warning: configurable for sprinkler-pipe freeze warning per NFPA 25, when connected to a compatible FACP.

Sensitivity self-monitoring is automatic and reported at the panel in percent-per-foot, satisfying the NFPA 72 sensitivity-test requirement without a separate meter.
