Protectowire, PHSC EPC 172°F 78°C Brown Jacket Linear Heat Detection
PHSC-172-EPC is a Protectowire PHSC digital (fixed-temperature) linear heat detector cable with a 172°F (78°C) alarm temperature and a Type EPC outer jacket. It senses heat at any point along its length: at the rated temperature the heat-sensitive polymer on the two twisted steel conductors yields and the conductors short, which initiates the alarm. The EPC jacket is a flame-retardant vinyl intended for interior commercial and industrial applications; the manufacturer cites low moisture absorption, resistance to many common chemicals and flexibility at low temperatures.
