Protectowire PHSC-155-XCR-M Linear Heat Detector Cable, (155°F/68°C), type XCR on Msg, 500 Feet
PHSC-155-XCR-M is a Protectowire PHSC digital (fixed-temperature) linear heat detector cable with a 155°F (68°C) alarm temperature and a Type XCR outer jacket. It senses heat at any point along its length: at the rated temperature the heat-sensitive polymer on the two twisted steel conductors yields and the conductors short, which initiates the alarm. The XCR jacket is a fluoropolymer intended for both interior and exterior environments; the manufacturer cites chemical, abrasion and weather resistance and high-temperature performance. The -M suffix means the detector is supplied on a 316 stainless steel messenger wire, wound around the cable about once per foot, for runs where there is no convenient mounting surface.
