NOTIFIER XP10-M — a ten-input addressable monitor module that interfaces a control panel with normally open contact devices such as pull stations, security contacts or flow switches.
The XP10-M packs ten monitor points into one module, which makes it the efficient way to bring a group of dry-contact devices onto an intelligent loop from a single equipment location. The first address is set from 01 to 150 and the remaining modules are automatically assigned to the next nine higher addresses; provisions are included for disabling a maximum of two unused addresses. The supervised state of each monitored device — normal, open or short — is sent back to the panel. A common SLC input serves all ten modules and the initiating device loops share a common supervisory supply and ground, but otherwise each monitor operates independently of the others. Each module has panel-controlled green LED indicators, and the panel can make them blink, latch on or latch off. Mounting hardware is included, and the module uses removable plug-in terminal blocks. To ensure proper operation this module should only be connected to a NOTIFIER intelligent fire alarm control panel.

Installation notes

Class A halves the point count: the module gives ten addressable Class B circuits, or five addressable Class A circuits. Decide the class before allocating addresses.

Shipped in the Class B position: the XP10-M arrives configured for Class B; remove the shunt for Class A operation.

Addresses run in a block: only the first address is dialled — the other nine follow it consecutively. Leave a clear block of ten addresses free on the loop, and remember that a maximum of two unused addresses can be disabled.

Alarm current is significant: 55 mA with all ten LEDs solid on is a large draw compared with a single-input module. Include it in the SLC power budget rather than treating the module as ten small loads.

Cabling: power-limited circuits must employ type FPL, FPLR or FPLP cable as required by Article 760 of the NEC.

UL against EN54 ratings: the temperature and humidity figures differ by application — 32°F to 120°F and 10–85% RH for UL, -10°C to +55°C and 10–93% RH for EN54. Quote the UL figures on North American submittals.

Enclosure required: the module is a board that mounts on a CHS-6 chassis or in a BB-XP, BB-25, CAB-4 Series or EQ Series cabinet — order the enclosure separately.
