NOTIFIER HS-NCM-MF — a High-Speed Network Communications Module with a multi-mode fiber-optic cable interface, for connecting NOTIFIER panels and annunciators to High-Speed NOTI·FIRE·NET™.
The HS-NCM provides NOTIFIER’s N16, NFS-320, NFS-640, NFS2-640, NFS-3030 and NFS2-3030 Fire Alarm Control Panels, NCD, NCA and NCA-2 Network Control Displays and Annunciators, and DVC Digital Voice Command with a means to connect to High-Speed NOTI·FIRE·NET. Each HS-NCM can accommodate up to two node addresses — one module can, for example, provide network communication for both an N16 and an NCD.
When not connected to a fire alarm panel, the HS-NCM defaults to repeater mode and can be used to boost signal distances or to pass data transmissions between two differently configured network segments where wire and fiber co-exist on a network. On fiber, data is immune to environmental noise and optical isolation prevents ground loops.

Installation notes
-
TX goes to RX, and Port A goes to Port B: when wiring consecutive nodes or repeaters, fiber must exit one board on Transmit (TX) and enter the next on Receive (RX). The fiber-optic pair from Port A of one node connects to Port B of another.
-
Connect only to matching media: an HS-NCM-MF may connect to another HS-NCM-MF on another panel, or to an HS-NCM-WMF-2, HS-NCM-WSF-2, or HS-NCM-MFSF. It does not connect directly to a wire-only HS-NCM-W-2.
-
Multi-mode only: this module is the multi-mode variant. Single-mode 9/125 µm fiber requires the HS-NCM-SF; mixing the two on one network requires the HS-NCM-MFSF.
-
Attenuation budget: 10 dB with 62.5/125 µm and 6.5 dB with 50/125 µm — calculate loss across splices and connectors before committing to a run length.
-
Mounting: installs in any standard chassis such as the CHS-4L, CHS-M2, CHS-M3, CHS-4N or CPU2-640 chassis. Unlike the HS-NCM-W-2, the fiber modules are not listed for door mounting on a dress panel.
-
Documentation: correct configuration depends on network design — refer to the High-Speed NFN Manual, P/N 54013, and the HS-NCM Manual, P/N 54014.
