NOTIFIER FCO-951 — an IntelliQuad® PLUS plug-in addressable multi-criteria detector that combines photoelectric, thermal, carbon monoxide and infrared sensing in a single unit, providing both fire detection and separate life-safety CO detection on one SLC address.
The detector combines four separate sensing elements to sense multiple components of a fire: smoke, CO, light/flame, and heat. This approach enables enhanced sensitivity to real fire with heightened immunity to nuisance particulates. For CO, the detector’s electrochemical sensing cell creates a separate signal for life safety CO detection.

This ability to reject certain nuisance alarm triggers, such as theater smoke, supports the use of the IntelliQuad PLUS Series detector in applications where moderate to heavy nuisance conditions exist that might cause single-sensing detectors to false alarm. The IntelliQuad PLUS Series detector meets both UL 268 7th edition and UL 521 listing requirements for fire detection as well as the UL 2075 standard for system-connected life safety carbon monoxide detection.
B200S series intelligent sounder bases (B200SCOA series in Canada) are recommended for use with the FCO-951 Series. These bases can generate either a Temp 3 pattern for fire or a Temp 4 pattern for CO alarm indication, and recognize the System Sensor synchronization protocol for use as a component of the general evacuation signal when connected to a power supply or FACP output capable of generating the System Sensor synchronization pulses. The detector head ships without a base — order the base separately.

Installation notes

Base sold separately: the FCO-951 is a plug-in head. B200S series sounder bases are recommended so fire and CO can be annunciated with different tone patterns; Canadian CO applications require the B200SCOA-WH/-IV base.

One address, two functions: the detector uses only one address on the SLC while reporting a separate CO signal distinct from its fire alarm signal.

Temperature range is narrower than a photo-only detector: 32°F to 100°F (0°C to 38°C) because of the electrochemical CO cell. Do not substitute it into locations rated for the 122°F photo-only FSP-951.

CO cell has a service life: 10-year CO cell with end-of-life warning. Automatic drift compensation applies to both the smoke and CO sensors.

Isolator spacing: the isolator load rating is 0.0063, which governs how many devices may be placed between isolator modules or isolator bases.

Testing: RealTest® CO testing capability is supported; magnet test uses the M02-04-00 test magnet or the M02-09-00 telescoping magnet.
