Johnson Controls J2351 — addressable plug-in photoelectric smoke detector head for a JCI signalling line circuit, white.
The J2351 Series is the documented direct replacement for the 2951J Series, with an optical chamber built to UL 268 7th Edition. The panel holds the sensitivity, monitors it continuously and reports drift, so a dirty detector is found by address. Addressing is rotary decimal, and the head tests from the panel or with a magnet. It carries no field terminals — it plugs into a separately ordered intelligent base, which is where relay, isolator or sounder functions live.
- FlashScan only on the plain J2351; the -IV variants are the CLIP and FlashScan parts
- Sensitivity 0.5% to 4.0% per foot obscuration (UL), factory preset 1.5% nominal
- 15 to 32 VDC peak; 200 µA standby at 24 VDC, 4.5 mA maximum
- 32°F to 122°F, 10–93% RH, 0–4000 ft/min air flow
- 2.0" high; base sets diameter — 6.1" on a B300-6, 4" on a B501
- UL/ULC S1948, FM approved, CSFM 7272-0554:0503
Check the suffix: J2351T adds a 135°F thermal element, J2351R is the remote-test head for DNR/DNRW duct housings, -IV is ivory and A models are ULC listed.
