CRF-300 — addressable relay module that gives a Fire•Lite intelligent control panel a dry-contact output for activating auxiliary devices such as fans, door holders, dampers and control equipment.
Addressability allows the dry contact to be activated through panel programming on a select basis. The module provides two Form-C dry contacts that switch together, and both the internal circuitry and the relay are powered directly by the two-wire SLC loop — no separate supply is needed to drive the relay itself. Built-in type identification automatically identifies the device to the control panel, and a built-in type code (not settable) differentiates a relay module from a control module. An integral LED blinks green each time a communication is received from the control panel and turns steady red when the module is activated. Typical applications include operating dry contacts for door holders and air handling unit shutdown, and resetting four-wire smoke detector power. The face plate is off-white heat-resistant plastic, and SEMS screws with clamping plates ease wiring.

Installation notes
-
No supervision on the output: open/short supervision is suspended with the CRF-300 and EOL resistance is not used. If you need a supervised output circuit, this is the wrong module — use a control module instead.
-
Derate for inductive loads: the headline 3.0 A rating is resistive, non-coded, at 30 VDC. Inductive coded loads at 30 VDC drop to 0.5 A (L/R = 5 ms), and inductive 125 VAC at PF 0.35 drops to 0.5 A. Fans, dampers and door holders are inductive — size against the inductive column, not the resistive one.
-
Relay power: the relay is driven from the SLC loop itself, so no external 24 VDC is required to operate the contacts. External loads still need their own supply.
-
Address before or after mounting: the two rotary switches may be set either way, and the address range depends on the connected panel.
-
Surface mounting: use the optional SMB500 surface-mount backbox.
-
Documentation: for installation instructions see document I56-1190-005 and refer to the SLC Wiring Manual, document 51309.
