Fiplex by Honeywell BDA-LD-50 — LD Series RF termination load for public safety in-building radio systems.
Every unused port on a splitter, tapper, hybrid coupler or duplexer in a public safety DAS has to be terminated. Leave one open and the RF energy arriving there reflects back down the line; the standing wave degrades port-to-port isolation, upsets measured return loss and can push a bi-directional amplifier towards oscillation. A termination load absorbs that energy instead, and is fitted at commissioning and left in place.

The near twin is the BDA-LD-05, the lower-rated model of the same series, and the two are not interchangeable on a high power port. Do not confuse the load with the BDA-NATTEN fixed attenuators, which pass signal through at a set loss rather than absorbing it.
