Westell CS05-488-429 — ClearLink-DC5 public safety directional coupler, 5 dB coupling, 340 to 2700 MHz, N female connectors.
In an in-building public safety DAS or emergency responder radio system, a directional coupler taps a fixed share of the signal off the main coaxial run toward a branch or antenna and passes the rest on. Westell rates this series for the UHF, 700 MHz and 800 MHz public safety bands; 5 dB is its strongest coupling value.
- Insertion loss 2.3 dB max; coupling variation plus or minus 1.2 dB
- Isolation 20 dB; VSWR 1.35:1 max
- 300 W average power
- IP-65 ingress rating; -30 to +75 °C operating
- 9.17 × 2.00 × 1.14 in., per the Westell product page
The 6, 10, 15, 20 and 30 dB N-type versions are CS05-489-429 through CS05-493-429, so check the coupling value on the design. It is not one of the CS05-4xx-114 power tappers or the CS05-487-390 hybrid coupler also sold here.
