VSP-005 — single replacement filter cartridge for VESDA VLC, VLF, VLP and VLS aspirating smoke detectors.
The filter cartridge sits between the sampling pipe network and the laser detection chamber. Its two-stage element first strips coarse debris out of the sampled air, then passes it through an ultra-fine second stage that also supplies the clean air barrier protecting the chamber optics — the mechanism that lets a VESDA detector hold its calibrated sensitivity across its service life. The cartridge is a sealed, single-use assembly: it is swapped, not cleaned. VSP-005 is supplied as one cartridge; the same cartridge is sold in a 20-pack under order code VSP-025.

Installation notes

Not a VESDA-E part: the data sheet lists VSP-005 for VLC, VLF, VLP and VLS only. VESDA-E VEP and VES detectors take the VSP-962 cartridge and VESDA-E VEA takes VSP-972; the parts are not interchangeable.

Single use: the cartridge is a sealed two-stage assembly and is replaced rather than cleaned or blown through.

Filter is not the aspirator: on VLF detectors the aspirator is a separate spare — VSP-722 for VLF-250, VSP-715 for VLF-500 — so a new filter will not recover airflow lost to a worn aspirator.
