Vesda VP-P-420 — 420 ft kit of 3/4 in. CPVC air sampling pipe for VESDA aspirating smoke detection networks.
An aspirating detector draws air continuously through its pipework, so the pipe is part of the detection system, not a conduit around it. Xtralis specifies the VESDA range in 3/4 in. iron pipe size dimensions to ASTM F442, and the pipe is pre-labeled to NFPA 72 requirements.
- Nominal 3/4 in. (20 mm); average outside diameter 1.050 in., average inside diameter 0.874 in.
- 0.168 pounds per foot; CPVC to ASTM D1784 cell classification 23477
- UL 1887 listed for plenum rated areas; flame travel 4, optical density 0.19 peak
- UL 94 V-0, limiting oxygen index 60 per ASTM D2863, ULC flame spread 0
- Operating temperature 0°F to 200°F, electrically non-conductive
- Tensile strength 8,400 psi and compressive strength 9,600 psi
The same pipe is catalogued in shorter kits as VP-P-105, VP-P-200 and VP-P-210, so check the length against the pipe schedule. A run also takes VP-COUP couplings, VP-ELB-45 and VP-ELB-90 elbows and VP-EC end caps, and Xtralis calls for a VP-CLIP-US clamp every 5 feet.
