System Sensor SPSWL — L-Series indoor wall-mount speaker strobe in white, marked FIRE.
It puts a dual-voltage evacuation speaker and a xenon strobe in one appliance, so a single 4 × 4 × 2-1/8 in back box carries both the voice message and the visible signal. A universal mounting plate with an onboard shorting spring lets the circuit be wired and checked for continuity before the appliance is plugged in, and two rotary switches on the back select speaker voltage and power tap.
- Seven field-selectable candela settings: 15, 30, 75, 95, 110, 135 and 185
- Strobe runs on 16 to 33 V, or on 8 to 17.5 V at the 15 and 30 cd settings only, flashing once per second
- Strobe current at 24 VDC ranges from 43 mA at 15 cd to 222 mA at 185 cd
- Speaker taps of 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 2 W give 77, 80, 83 and 86 dBA at 10 ft
- Listed to UL 1480 and UL 1971, rated 32°F to 120°F
Do not confuse it with the SPWL, the speaker alone with no strobe, or the SPSRL, the red version. SPSWL-P drops the FIRE lettering, and SPSWLED is the later LED-strobe generation.

Compatibility
The SPSWL is a dual-voltage speaker with a strobe, so one back box carries both the voice message and the visible signal. Do not confuse it with the SPWL (speaker only, no strobe) or the SPSRL (the red version). SPSWL-P drops the FIRE lettering, and SPSWLED is the later LED-strobe generation. For speaker-only L-Series devices on this site, see the SPRL red wall speaker and the SPCRL red ceiling speaker.
FAQ
Does the SPSWL have a strobe? Yes. It combines a speaker and a xenon strobe in one appliance.
How is the speaker power tap set? Two rotary switches on the back select speaker voltage and power tap.
