System Sensor PC2WLED — an L-Series with LED indoor 2-wire horn strobe for ceiling mounting, in a white housing, with rotary-switch selectable candela, horn tone and volume settings.
The L-Series with LED platform combines a selectable-output horn with an LED strobe. LED lighting technology offers significantly lower current draw compared to older xenon bulbs across a full candela range, which improves design flexibility for notification appliance circuits (NACs) while also reducing power supply requirements. The PC2WLED uses a universal mounting plate with a plug-in design and minimal intrusion into the back box, and the plate includes an onboard shorting spring so installers can test wiring continuity before the device is installed. Diagnostic test points on the face of the appliance allow device voltage to be measured with a digital voltage meter (DVM) without removing the appliance from the ceiling, which speeds troubleshooting and end-of-line voltage checks. Construction is tamper resistant, and the appliance is electrically compatible with legacy SpectrAlert, SpectrAlert Advance and L-Series devices.

Installation notes

Ceiling candela set differs from wall: ceiling units are selectable to 15, 30, 75, 95, 115, 150 and 177 cd. The 110/135/185 cd settings belong to the wall-mount models — do not carry a wall candela schedule onto a ceiling appliance.

24 V only: L-Series LED strobes and horn strobes are rated at a nominal regulated 24 VDC with an operating range of 16 to 33 V. The 8–17.5 V (12 V nominal) range published for this family applies to horn-only models.

Sizing NACs: the strobe current figures above are strobe-only. Total horn strobe current depends on the candela setting, tone pattern and volume setting together — use the horn strobe current draw table in the data sheet for NAC loading calculations.

Synchronization: achieved through UL approved power supplies that support the System Sensor Sync protocol, or a System Sensor MDL3 Sync Module.

Continuity check before mounting: the universal mounting plate has an onboard shorting spring, so wiring continuity can be verified before the appliance is plugged in.

Surface mounting: use the SBBCWL white ceiling surface mount back box; TRC-2W is the white universal ceiling trim ring.
