P2RH-LF — System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance 2-wire low frequency sounder strobe, High cd, red, combining a 520 Hz ± 10% square wave sounder with a xenon strobe.
The P2RH-LF was designed to meet the NFPA 72 sleeping space requirement for a low frequency notification appliance operating within a frequency range of 520 Hz ± 10% with a square wave tone. The device is tamper resistant, with a plug-in design that minimises intrusion into the back box, making installation fast and foolproof while virtually eliminating costly and time-consuming ground faults. A universal mounting plate carries an onboard shorting spring so wiring continuity can be checked before the device is installed, and the unit is electrically compatible with legacy SpectrAlert devices. The housing carries a permanent marking that reads “low frequency sounder”.

Installation notes
-
24 volts only: the low frequency sounder strobe is a regulated 24 VDC/FWR appliance with a 16 to 33 V operating range. The 8 to 17.5 V (12 V nominal) range published in this family applies to the sounder-only models such as the HR-LF, not to this sounder strobe. Do not apply it to a 12-volt NAC.
-
High cd only: “High cd” on this model means the selectable range is 135, 150, 177 and 185 — there is no 15, 30, 75 or 95 cd setting. If the design calls for a low candela value, this is the wrong appliance.
-
Non-coded supply: the sounder on sounder strobe models operates on a non-coded power supply and offers Temporal 3 and Continuous only. The Coded position exists on the sounder-only models, not here.
-
Back boxes: a standard 4 x 4 x 1-1/2-inch back box, 4-inch octagon box or double-gang box. Being a 2-wire product it may also mount to a single-gang 2 x 4 x 1-7/8-inch back box.
-
Synchronization: compatible with the MDL3 Sync•Circuit module. On the MDL3, 24-volt rated NAC outputs operate between 16.5 and 33 volts. While operating the strobes the module can silence the sounder over a single pair of wires.
-
Mounting listing: listed for ceiling or wall mounting; the candela values quoted above are the wall unit ratings.
-
Panel compatibility: if the appliances are not UL 9th edition listed with the panel or power supply in use, refer to the panel compatibility listing to determine the maximum devices on a circuit.
