DNRW — System Sensor InnovairFlex watertight intelligent (addressable) non-relay photoelectric low-flow duct smoke detector housing, NEMA Type 4 rated. The detector head is sold separately.
The InnovairFlex housing adjusts to both square and rectangular installation footprints, mounts to round or rectangular ductwork, and uses patented tool-free plug-in sampling tubes, so one part number covers a wide range of duct geometries. The DNRW is the watertight member of the family: its NEMA 4-rated, UV-resistant housing and cover protect against windblown dirt and dust, rain and hose-directed water, which lets it be installed on a rooftop or other outdoor air handler without a separate costly enclosure. The housing cover isolates the sensor head from the low-flow feature to simplify maintenance, a cover tamper feature raises a trouble signal if the sensor cover is removed or improperly installed, and a clear cover allows visual inspection without opening the unit. A ¾-inch conduit knockout and internal space for mounting a relay module are provided. The unit requires com line power only, and the InnovairFlex line is compatible with previous Innovair models including their remote test accessories.

Installation notes

Head not included: this part is the duct housing. The detector head is ordered separately, and the electrical specifications for the assembled detector come from the detector head installation manual — the housing data sheet does not publish standby or alarm current for the sensor.

Remote test needs two extra parts: using an RTS151 or RTS151KEY remote test station requires the accessory DCOIL test coil, sold separately, and an external UL listed 24 VDC power supply for the test coil circuit. The coil draws 95 mA. Budget both before quoting a remote test station.

Local testing is by magnetic switch using the M02-04-00 test magnet; remote testing uses the RTS151KEY.

Velocity limits are hard limits: the detector is listed from 100 ft/min to 4,000 ft/min. Verify duct velocity at the intended location across the full range of fan operation, including part-load, before committing to the position.

Sampling tube must match duct width: tubes are ordered separately by duct width (DST1 up to 1 ft, DST1.5 for 1–2 ft, DST3 for 2–4 ft, DST5 for 4–8 ft, DST10 for 8–12 ft). Tubes are tool-free plug-in and may be installed from the front or the back of the detector; use the P48-21-00 end cap on metal sampling tubes.

Non-relay: there are no on-board Form C contacts. Where dry contacts are needed for fan shutdown or damper control, mount a relay module in the space the housing provides, or use a relay version of the detector.

Outdoor use: the NEMA 4 rating covers non-hazardous locations only. It is not a hazardous-location rating.
