System Sensor 5602 — a single-circuit mechanical heat detector from the 5600 series, rated 194°F (90°C) with combination fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise activation, supplied with a reversible mounting bracket for flush or surface back box installation.
The 5600 series offers a full line of configurations to accommodate a broad range of applications. Both single- and dual-circuit models are available for low- and high-temperature ratings with either fixed temperature or combination fixed temperature/rate-of-rise (ROR) activation. The ROR element of the fixed/ROR models is restorable to accommodate field testing. Alphanumeric characters on the exterior identify the activation method and the temperature rating in Fahrenheit and Celsius, and a post-activation collector drops from the unit when it operates, making the detector in alarm easy to identify. System Sensor’s 5600 series mechanical heat detectors offer a low-cost means for property protection against fire, and for non-life-safety installations where smoke detectors are inappropriate.

Installation notes

Not a life-safety device: the 5600 series is intended for property protection and for non-life-safety installations where smoke detectors are inappropriate — it is not a substitute for smoke detection.

Spacing: the 50 × 50 foot UL protected spacing applies to a 10-foot ceiling. Refer to NFPA 72 guidelines for spacing reductions when ceiling heights exceed 10 feet.

Ambient temperature limit: maximum installation temperature for the 5602 is 150°F (65.6°C). The 135°F models in this series are limited to 100°F (38°C).

Field testing: the rate-of-rise element is restorable to accommodate field testing.
