System Sensor SPSCWL-CLR-ALERT — indoor L-Series ceiling mount speaker strobe in white with a clear lens and ALERT lettering rather than FIRE.
The ALERT marking lets a mass notification appliance be told apart from the fire appliances in the same ceiling. Electrically it is an ordinary L-Series selectable-output speaker strobe: a plug-in device on a universal mounting plate.
- Its own data sheet withholds one approval from this model: FM approved except for ALERT models
- Ceiling candela settings 15, 30, 75, 95, 115, 150 and 177; 12 volt operation only at 15 and 30 cd
- Taps of 1/4, 1/2, 1 and 2 W at 25 or 70.7 Vrms, 400 to 4,000 Hz
- Ceiling speaker strobe output 77, 80, 83 and 86 dBA at the four taps
- Xenon flash tube at one flash per second, 16 to 33 V DC or FWR
- Strobe current 41 to 226 mA DC across the seven settings
SPSCWL carries FIRE lettering, SPSCWL-P is plain, SPSCWL-SP is marked FUEGO and SPSCRL is red. SPCWL is the ceiling speaker with no strobe. An LED equivalent, SPSCWLED-CLR-ALERT, is catalogued in the same words, but no manufacturer document read states that it replaces this part.
