Simplex GSA4098-9714 — TrueAlarm addressable photoelectric smoke sensor head, GSA-prefixed variant of the 4098-9714.
A TrueAlarm sensor makes no alarm decision on its own. The head measures obscuration with a pulsed infrared LED and silicon photodiode; the base digitises that value for the panel, which holds the threshold, logs peak values and compensates for drift. Sensitivity is set in programming, not by swapping hardware. The GSA prefix runs across the whole Simplex 4098 family, so it marks an ordering variant, not a different sensing element.
- Seven panel-selected sensitivities, 0.2% to 3.7% per foot; 0.2, 0.5 and 1% for clean areas only
- IDNet or MAPNET II, auto-selected, one address per base
- 360° smoke entry with built-in insect screen; 0–4000 ft/min air velocity rating
- 15° to 122°F with the smoke sensor fitted; UL listed range 32° to 100°F
Sensor head only — the addressable base (4098-9792, -9789, -9791 or -9780) carries the address and is ordered separately.
