Simplex 8565-479 — main power supply and battery charger board assembly for the Simplex 4005 fire alarm control panel.
This is the supply built into the 4005 panel, not an add-on booster and not a cabinet. It is the board assembly that makes regulated notification and auxiliary power, runs the battery charger and reports power faults to the CPU. Simplex identifies the 4005 main supply as PC board assembly 565-479; the 8-prefix is the form its service parts lists use for a replacement board.
- Output rated 4 A for Special Application notification appliances, or 2 A for regulated 24 VDC appliances
- Regulated, power-limited 24 VDC on two taps of 2 A each
- Two auxiliary power connections, 2 A max each, 18.7 to 32 VDC
- AC input switch selectable: 102–132 VAC 60 Hz at 2 A, or 204–264 VAC 50/60 Hz at 1 A
- Charges batteries up to 18 Ah inside the 4005 cabinet, or up to 33 Ah externally
- Monitors missing, depleted and low battery, earth fault, AC loss, brownout, signal power overload and charger failure
Do not confuse this with the 4005-9813 Expansion Power Supply (565-481), a separate 5 A supply that requires this main supply plus the 4005-9807 power distribution module, nor with that module itself.
