Simplex 740-801 — programmed PROM for the controller of the 4100+/4100UT Universal Power Supply. It is a program device, not a switch.
The Simplex 740- block is mixed: it holds trim bands, shield kits and hardware as well as programmed ICs, so the number alone settles nothing. What settles this one is publication 574-758, which shows 740-801 inside the PROM socket on the Communicating Power Supply Controller Assembly (565-247) — the card on the front of the switcher that gives the supply its communications, charger options and address switches.
- Occupies the PROM socket on controller assembly 565-247
- Host supply also uses switcher 636-341, 120/220/240 VAC to 28.5 VDC
- That switcher gives 8 A maximum continuous plus 4 A for battery charging
- Jumpers JW1 to JW7 set PROM type 27C64, 27C256 or 27C512 at the factory
- Board switches SW1 (configuration, charger) and SW2 (address) are separate
- Reference publication 574-758; wiring diagrams 841-731 and 841-995
Ordering this will not get you a switch. If the panel needs a physical switch, or a replacement supply, quote against the assembly numbers above and confirm the part against publication 574-758.
