Simplex 636-064 — 100 W audio amplifier assembly with 70 V output for legacy Simplex 4100 voice systems.
A fire alarm voice evacuation system needs an amplifier between the audio source and the speaker circuits. In the classic 4100 architecture that amplifier was supplied as a complete assembly rather than a plug-in card, and Simplex offered two output formats so it could match whichever constant-voltage speaker line an installation was designed around. This is the 70 V assembly.
- Audio amplifier assembly rated 100 W
- 70 V constant-voltage output, using the matching 70.7 V transformer 478-300
- Catalogued for the Simplex 4100, 4100+ and Universal Transponder (UT) platforms
- Listed in the 4100/4100+/UT parts list as Amplifier, Audio (70V, 100W)
- Supplied as an assembly rather than as a bare amplifier board
The 25 V version at the same rating is a different item, built from amplifier board 562-907, power supply board 565-079 and 25 V transformer 478-296, so a 25 V system cannot take this part.
