TrueAlert ES appliances are individually addressable on the IDNAC signalling line circuit, which is the practical difference from a conventional horn/strobe: each device is supervised and controlled by itself, candela is set from the panel rather than by a switch on the back plate, and the panel can self-test the appliance without anyone climbing to it.
