Simplex 4905-9938 — SmartSync Control Module (SCM) for TrueAlert non-addressable notification appliances.
SmartSync is how Simplex runs horns and strobes on one pair of wires and still silences the horns while the strobes keep flashing. The SCM takes two panel circuits — one that controls the strobes and powers the module, one that commands the horns — and merges them into a single synchronised TrueAlert output. A once-per-second pulse syncs the strobes; horn commands ride on those same pulses.
- NAC input 16–33 VDC (24 V nominal), 30 mA max module supply current
- Output 16–33 VDC, 2.0 A max; up to 35 devices with strobes or 40 horn-only devices
- Class A or Class B; internal 10 kΩ end-of-line resistor on the Class A terminals
- Up to eight SCMs daisy-chained for Multi-Sync, master or slave set by DIP switch
- Mounts to a 4-inch square box, 2 1/8 inch deep minimum
Not compatible with addressable TrueAlert appliances, and neither input may be driven from a coded circuit.
