Simplex 4905-9838 is the optional sound damper for TrueAlert non-addressable multi-tone horns and multi-tone horn/strobes, sold in a package of 20. It is an adhesive-backed horn output attenuator applied in the field, for locations that need 5 to 6 dBA less output, such as stairwells, small rooms and highly reverberant areas.

Compatibility and installation notes
- Listed as an accessory for the 4901-9856 (red) and 4901-9857 (white) TrueAlert non-addressable multi-tone horns.
- Listed as an accessory for the 4906-9137 (red) and 4906-9138 (white) multi-candela multi-tone horn/strobes.
- After installing a damper, measure the sound level to confirm the area still meets applicable code requirements.
- One unit is a pack of 20, not a single damper.
