Simplex 4100-9863 — TCP/IP Physical Bridge Interface Kit, Class B (Style 4), for 4100ES, 4100U and 4100 panels.
Not a standalone media converter: the kit takes traffic from the node's network interface module, hands it to a bridge module that proxies for its remote node, then to a panel-powered NET232 Ethernet interface, letting nodes join over a facility LAN in ring, star or loop topologies.
- Contains the bridge module with motherboard, a NET232 Ethernet interface, cables and mounting plate
- Occupies 2 slots (4 in) of module space
- Network side 9600 bps, 8 bit; LAN side 38.4 kbps; NET232 supports 10 or 100 Mbps
- Battery current 196 mA at 24 VDC
- Two TCP/IP links maximum in any path
- 32° to 120°F (0° to 49°C); two media modules ordered separately
Two kits make one complete bridge link. Simplex lists 4100-9849 as the earlier number for this same kit. Do not confuse it with 4100-9864, the Class X kit that ships two NET232 interfaces and draws 236 mA, or with 4010-9926, the 4010ES Class B kit.
