Simplex 4100-6304 — 4120 MM-R duplex fiber media card, the right hand multi-mode transceiver for a 4120 network node.
Simplex installation instructions 579-1238 Rev. A list four versions of the 4120 Duplex Fiber Media Module: 6301 is SM-L, 6302 is SM-R, 6303 is MM-L, and 6304 is MM-R, built as assembly 566-1199. Right cards transmit at 1310 nm and receive at 1550 nm while left cards do the reverse, so a single fiber carries the link in both directions and every span needs an L card at one node and an R card at the other. On a 4100ES the right card seats in port P6 of the 4100-6014/6078 modular network card; the 4100-9863/9864 physical bridge card and the 4190-6033/6061 TrueSite Workstation card are also listed compatible.
- Multi-mode 50/125 or 62.5/125 µm fiber, SC connector, numerical aperture 0.275
- Right media: 1310 nm transmit, 1550 nm receive
- 18 dB link budget over 5 km (about 16,400 ft) maximum
- 5 VDC at 220 mA max, or 24 VDC at 55 mA max
- 32 to 120 °F (0 to 49 °C)
Pair it with the left card 4100-6303 at the far end of the same fiber; two right cards will not link to each other. Do not substitute 4100-6302, the SM-R card, which is the right hand transceiver for 9/125 µm single-mode fiber only.
